UGA 3D Workshop Fall 2022

Earlier this year, Professor Brad Davis reached out to me about helping put together a workshop for one of his Master's Courses at the University of Georgia. Professor Davis was one of my instructors during my undergrad, so it was a tremendous honor to be able to go back and help out with the current students in the MLA program. The workshop focused heavily on Sketchup modeling with some post production techniques in Lumion. We created digital models of two buildings the class was very familiar with - the Tanner Building and Denmark Hall - both of which are a part of the College of Environmental Design (CED).


The idea was to focus on creating an accurate representation of the existing buildings but to also create a scene that was unique to the designer. The students were encouraged to use different perspectives, filters, times of day/year. It is always fascinating to see the same project but illustrated in various ways.


I was thoroughly impressed with the the enthusiasm of the students. The workshop was held outside of their other classes and assignments. They showed incredible improvement all along the way. Below are some examples of the students' work:
